Michael Bulloch Biography
Since art runs in his family it is no surprise that Michael became a painter and graphic artist. Michael had a brush in his hand as soon as he could sit up and he sold his first painting when he was four. The painting sold to a friend of his grandmother for a dollar. However, when he was offered a dollar bill, Michael turned it down saying, “I don’t want paper money, I want real money, the kind that chingles.” Michael has always loved art and is an award winning artist. In 2006 his painting “Fisher of Men” won the Northwest New Mexico Arts Council Choice Award at the “Gateway to Imagination” National Juried Art Show at the Farmington Museum and “Summertime Cathedral,” was the winner of the Connie Mack World Series Official Program Cover Contest. In 2007 “Forgotten Friends” won the Dick Blick Special Recognition Award at the “Gateway to Imagination” National Juried Art Show. In 2008 “River of Lost Souls” won second place at the Conneaut Community Center for the Arts Fireworks Juried Art Exhibition and was chosen for the Farmington Riverfest Poster and T-shirt. “Afternoon Shadows,” won third place at the Conneaut Community Center for the Arts Fireworks Juried Art Exhibition and was chosen for the High Desert Fine Art Festival poster. Michael’s work is owned by collectors across the country. It is part of the permanent collection of Merrion Oil and Gas, San Juan College as well as the City of Bloomfield, NM. His work can be seen at Artifact Gallery in Farmington, NM, as well as at New Mexico Metal Arts in Aztec, NM. |
